"Frozen" Blue Wedding Cupcake Tree for Siti & Ilham

Here's a Blue-themed Cupcake Tree for the Groom to match their blue-themed wedding! So a Malay wedding can be held in 2 different locations - 1 for the bride and the other for the groom... These days the groom pretty much do not wanna be left out on the specifics in the weddings... they too! would want a fancy outfit of their choice... the kind of food that is served... and even the wedding cake!

A wedding cake for the groom isn't easy to design like i thought it would... It shouldn't be too feminine but yet classy... It should have some form of masculinity in it too...  but not too boisterous either... well IT IS a wedding! Fortunately, the theme for the wedding on the groom's side (Ilham) has set its tone for me to create his wedding cake (he has chosen to have a wedding cupcake tree). The theme is the colour Blue! Inspired by the Disney Movie "Frozen".

So i googled "FROZEN BLUE" and this is what i found and was inspired from...

SHADES OF BLUE is what I see! 

Not one, not two but lots of lovely different shades of blue! So Shades of Blue it is! Using fancy silver cupcake cases, with a dust of Silver Sugar Crystals to create that Magical look and fresh white baby breaths to make a nice snowy touch to it to add some elegance. 

I have not seen Ilham's Decor/Setting before the set up... and was afraid that with too much blue around, the wedding cupcake tree would blend to much into the decors... but once we've got the tree up... It pops out like a blue crystals in a sea of waves! (blue crystals being the tree and the wedding decor being the sea of waves.. ;) heheh. It was perfect...! 

I was happy... fortunately so were the lovely Bride and Groom... my Friends Siti Khuzaimah and Ilham... :)

Here's a simple yet elegant request from sweet Rina Suriana (the bride). Specifically requesting grey and coral colors for the sugar butterflies and sugar flowers. So you see… we don't need so many cupcakes for a cupcake tree! One big one and a couple dozen of smaller ones would be enough for a picture perfect Wedding Cake! This is great when you're not planning to feed all your guests with your wedding cake.. and it saves you more money too!

Old Golden Floral Red Velvet Wedding Cake for Hairul & Syalha

Hairul is the reason I found work in Fika. He introduced me back then in 2011, to join the kitchen part time even though I didn't have any commercial kitchen experience whatsoever. 8 months later i became full time and have been baking for Fika full time ever since! Thanks Hairul!

The great news of his wedding came last month with a request of a wedding cake meant to be as a gift to his bride, sweet Syalha. I couldn't refuse and had planned it as a gift to him. He wanted something gold and with the initials "H" and "S" and the rest was up to my imagination! I love it when I get orders where I could do whatever i want with little requests really! It gives me an opportunity to allow my creativity to shine!

And so I decided a some what "White Picket Fence" theme, only instead of white it will be GOLD.

A 2-Tier Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Icing. The fence is made of white chocolate sticks dusted with an old gold dust and added with some hand made sugar petunias that i have made out of gum paste.

Wedding Cupcake Tree for Harun & Farah

The best option for a wedding cake when requested at the last minute to me is a cupcake tree! Harun had requested for a wedding cake just less than a week before his wedding… (wedding on 8th September) and on the same day i was already booked for a dessert buffet for another… but i can never find myself refusing a request… so i suggested a cupcake tree! and thankfully he agreed… i was so glad!

I love cupcake tree! there's so much you can do with cupcake trees… from colors to decors and height too! So the groom and bride-to-be wanted red velvet and something white & silver… and at a short period of time i manage to get some great silver beaded accessories for the tiers, some white flowers, edible silver beads for the icing and silver cupcake cases  to make the sweet wedding cupcake tree for the sweet loving couple. So much fun with this one! I hope to get more cupcake tree requests!
